Steven L. Edsall, DVM
Dr. Edsall was raised in Montana and graduated from Montana State University in 1977 with a degree in zoology. He is a 1982 graduate of Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine. He has worked in private practice in Salisbury, Maryland, Meridian, Idaho, and he was on the faculty at Michigan State University in the Equine Field Service Department before moving to Bellevue, Idaho in 1989. Dr. Edsall’s main areas of interest are dentistry and equine foot problems. He is a member of the American Association of Equine Practitioners, American Veterinary Medical Association, and the Idaho Veterinary Medical Association.
George S. Martin,
DVM, Diplomate American College of Veterinary Surgeons

Dr. Martin is a 1977 graduate of the University of Illinois’ College of Veterinary Medicine. He interned at the Illinois Equine Hospital in Naperville, Illinois and then practiced for 2 years as a veterinarian for the Illinois Equine Field Service, which provided ambulatory care for horses in the western suburbs of Chicago. In 1980 he began a large animal surgical residency at Colorado State University. In 1983 after completing the residency, Dr. Martin joined the faculty of Louisiana State University. In 1986 he became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons.

At LSU, he was Service Chief of Equine Medicine and Surgery from 1996 to 2001. Dr. Martin also has a MS from CSU and a MBA from Tulane University. Dr. Martin is a member of the AAEP, the AVMA, the IVMA, and the Veterinary Orthopedic Society. His clinical interests are in arthroscopy, general musculoskeletal and gastrointestinal surgery and respiratory problems. His research interests are in surgical solutions to orthopedic problems and causes of fetlock joint arthritis. He has more than 40 peer-reviewed publications in veterinary scientific journals. LSU holds a patent, for which Dr. Martin is the inventor, on a new surgical implant for fetlock joint arthrodesis.

Erin Crawford, DVM
Dr. Erin Crawford graduated from the University of Woming in 2000 with a degree in biology and received her DVM from Colorado State University in 2006. Following graduation, she was an intern at Oakridge Equine Hospital in Edmond, Oklahoma. Dr. Crawford joined Sawtooth Equine Service after completing her internship in June of 2007. She is a member of the AAEP, AVMA, IVMA and is lisenced in Wyoming and Oklahoma as well as Idaho. Her professional interests include acupuncture, lameness, reproduction and anesthesia in the equine patient. In her free time she enjoys the great outdoors with her fiance Ben, theirs dogs and her horse.

Brandy Parish, Certified Veterinary Technician
Brandy has worked for Sawtooth Equine service for 8 years. She worked for other veterinary practices before coming here and spent a year at Idaho Equine Hopspital in Nampa. She often rides with one of the veterinarians, so you may see her if they call at your home or barn where you stable. She also provides anesthesia for surgical patients. She enjoys competing in team roping and ski joring in the Western United States. She and her husband, Lance, live in Richfield.

Joy Allen, Office Manager & Certified Veterinary Technician
Joy Allen has worked for Sawtooth Equine Service for 5 years. She is the friendly voice that you will most often hear when you call. She is responsible for several important functions: scheduling appointments, ordering supplies, tracking health certificates and Coggins papers, monitoring the Preventicare Program, and supervising others. She was born in England, and she has lived in many places around the world while working with horses. While working primarily with polo horses she has lived in Germany, France, Italy, Nigeria, Australia, New Zealand and several states in the U.S. before settling in the Wood River Valley. She and her husband Eric live in Bellevue where Eric is on the city council, and she is active on the tree committee.

She was born in England, and she has lived in many places around the world while working with horses. While working primarily with polo horses she has lived in Germany, France, Italy, Nigeria, Australia, New Zealand and several states in the U.S. before settling in the Wood River Valley. She and her husband Eric live in Bellevue.  Joy is active on the tree committee and Friends of the Howard Preserve.

Gay Miremont, DVM, MSW, LCSW Veterinary Anesthetist
Dr. Miremont is a 1986 graduate of Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine. She worked in a mixed animal practice in Zachary, LA for 2 years and then worked in the anesthesia department at LSU for 6 years while going to graduate school in social work. In 1994, she started her own counseling business in New Roads, LA. She is married to Dr. Martin. From a horse owners perspective, she administers and monitors the health of anesthetized patients during elective and emergency procedures.

She also provides counseling services in the Wood River Valley as a private Licensed Clinical Social Worker (208) 481-0615 on an ad hoc basis. She works for St. Luke's Regional Medical Center as discharge planner. 
She also works part time for St. Luke's Community Center for Communit Health.  She works part time for Sawtooth Animal Center as a companion animal veterinarian.

Robin Kenney
Robin Kenney has been with Sawtooth Equine since April 2004.  She has an associates degree in Veterinary Science Technology and a bachelors degree in Earth Science.  Robin has been riding and showing horses since she was a child.  Prior to moving to Idaho in 2000, Robin and her husband Dan lived in Maryland and Washington where she worked at several mixed animal practices.  When not at the clinic helping with the horses or managing the PreventiCare program, Robin is at home in Camas county caring for her many pets.  She also enjoys showing goats adn her Miniature Horse, camping, reading and goat packing
