The vaccine must be administered by a veterinarian (as rabies is classified as a public health risk) The vaccine is a single shot once a year. Horses are at a higher risk for rabies than you may think because they live outside and are in frequent contact with wildlife! See the link below for info on a recent outbreak... Fall is a good time of the year to have your horses teeth checked to see if they require floating before winter comes. We also recommend a rhinopneumonitis and/or rhino-flu vaccination and deworming in the fall. Floating the teeth and deworming your horse will help it to get through the winter more easily!
